Jon Thomas Hunter has over forty-one years of experience as an attorney. Jon concentrates his practice in wealth transfer, estate planning, taxation, probate, trust administration, and small business planning serving clients on all islands.

A former Internal Revenue Service Estate & Gift Tax Attorney, Jon is admitted to the State Bar of Connecticut, Massachusetts, California and Hawaii. He was the Editor-in-Chief of The Hawaii State Tax Reporter and is a co-author of all four editions of “It’s the Law: What Non-Profits Need To Know” published by the Hawaii State Bar Association. He lectures frequently on tax related topics.

In addition to his estate planning and tax practice, Jon is retained as legal counsel to the fundraising efforts of Hawaii and Mainland charities. Representative clients include The Honolulu Academy of Arts, East-West Center Foundation, Iolani School, Punahou School, Mid-Pacific Institute, Maryknoll School, Saint Louis School, National Tropical Botanical Garden, Straub Foundation, University of Hawaii Foundation and many other charities and churches in Hawaii.
